I know it’s been a while. It’s almost exam season and we all know how chaotic that can be. So I decided to take a small break from school work and write this post.
Teardrop is a book by Lauren Kate. Lauren Kate is the author of one of favourite series called the Fallen series. I did a review on it a while ago. Here’s the link if you want to check it out : The Fallen Series. Teardrop is a interesting, but great book. I seriously enjoyed it. It starts a little slow, it gets very intriguing. Without spoiling anything (or attempting not to), Teardrop is about a girl called Eureka. She just lost her mother in a car accident. Eureka’s mother leaves her with various objects that leaves Eureka with more questions than answers. Eureka also meets a strange boy named Ander. But little does she know that Ander has a connection with her mother’s death. And the secret he hides from her will change her everything.
Overall, I found the book to be very well written and I cannot wait to read the sequel titled Waterfall. This post is little short, I guess I’m out of practice. If you have read Teardrop, let me know what you thought about it. If you haven’t read did, what book do you recommend people should read? Let me know by commenting on this post. 🙂
Lots of love
So, I finished the last book of the Mortal Instruments series called Heavenly Fire. The series was written by Cassandra Clare. The series comprises 6 books; City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Lost Souls, City of Fallen Angels and finally City of Heavenly Fire. I will not talk about all of the books, simply because this post would be way too long. I will talk about what I like in the last book because I finished it recently and I will also talk about my favorite book in the series. From this point on, there might be some spoilers, so SPOILER ALERT for those who have not read the series.
I will start by saying that my favorite part of the last book (City of Heavenly Fire) was when Sebastian dies and “turns” good for a little while. I thought it was a great moment. We’ve seen the negative side of Sebastian for so long that it was nice to see him being not evil for once. I was very much happy that Magnus and Alec reunited. They are one of my favorite couples. I was very sad when I found out that Jordan died. I loved Jordan and his relationship with Maya.
Now, my favorite book of the whole series is probably the third one, which is called City of Glass. I absolutely loved the Clary and Jace moments in this book. Even though, they do have some hurdles to overcome in the book following City of Glass, I felt like City of Glass was when they finally came together. I also love how everyone comes together; the downworldlers and the Shadowhunters, Alec and Magnus, Jace and Clary. I mean in my opinion the series could have ended there and I would have been happy. Although, I was sad that Max died, I liked him and would have loved to see him in the other books.
For those who read the series, what were your favorite parts? What book did you like the most? Let me know by commenting on this post. 🙂
Lots of love
So as I’ve mentioned in a previous post called A Brand New Year, I got several books. One of them was Zodiac by Romina Russell. I saw this book last January when I was browsing Chapters one day. It caught my eye and since I had time to spare I sat down and started reading it. One year later, I finally got it and finished it. For those who haven’t read the book the story is about a sixteen year old named Rhoma (Rho) Grace. She is from house Cancer. Legend says that there used to be a thirteenth house. What if that house really existed and is coming back and it is seeking revenge? What will happen? Will people believe and trust Rho? That was somewhat terrible synopsis. I’m not very good at doing those without spoiling anything.
Anyway, I loved this story because it was cool to imagine how the Zodiac would work and its story, where it came from and how it was formed. It was interesting reading more about that even if a lot of it is fiction. However, I was surprised by the ending. I was expecting something different. I encourage that you read it. This is not my best book review. I’m a little rusty on those :P. I will be doing a review of the Mortal Instruments, hopefully that one will be better.
Have you read a book recently? If so which one? Let me know by commenting on this post. 🙂
Lots of love,
I read the book 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher when I was in 9th grade. I got the book for Christmas. I remember loving the book. I read it fairly quickly.
The book is about a girl called Hannah Baker who commits suicide. We learn her story through a set of tapes she pre-recorded listing 13 who are responsible for the reason she committed suicide. The tapes are given anonymously to the people responsible, if they don’t pass it to the next person on the tape, the set of tapes will be release to the whole school by someone who was given an extra set by Hannah.
I personally loved this book because even if Clay was in the tapes, I don’t think he was one of the reasons why Hannah took her life. He is there because she wanted to explain to him what happened. She wanted him to know because they liked each other.
This book is very well written. I cried at the end of the book. And I will eventually read it again. Jay Asher does a great job telling Hannah’s story and making you feel how she felt; tired, hopeless, alone…
If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly recommend it. If you have read this book, what did you think? Did you enjoy it? Let me know by commenting on this post. 🙂

I’m going to talk about The Fallen Series, which is one of my favourite series so far. The Fallen series is written by Lauren Kate. It consists of 4 books: Fallen, Torment, Passion and Rapture. The series revolves around a girl named Lucinda Price and following fallen angels Arriane Alter, Cam, Gabbe Givens, Molly Zane, Roland Sparks and Lucinda’s love interest Daniel Grigori. Lucinda and Daniel’s love story is not an ordinary one. They are cursed and they must find a way to break this curse, but what makes them think that this time will be different? Will they finally have the happy ever after they deserve?
I must say that Passion’s my favourite book out of the four. Mostly because we look into Daniel and Lucinda’s past & they go way, way, way back. We also get to know what happened between Cam and Daniel.
Lauren Kate did a great job at telling this beautiful heart wrenching love story. It’s a great example of what true love is. No matter what happens between Lucinda and Daniel, no matter who wants to keep them apart, they always end up finding each other.
To be honest, I would reread the series, but I lent Fallen to someone who never gave it back to me :(, but I will definitely reread Passion.
I recommend that you guys take a look at Haylee04‘s review of Fallen to have more of a sense of what Fallen is about. Her post is called Saturday Sitdown.

Yes, I do read! In fact I absolutely love reading. One of my favourite stores of all time is Chapters. I literally can spend all my money in that store, which is why I bring my mom so she can pay for my books (I'm partly joking). My favourite series so far are the Fallen series by Lauren Kate and The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I love fantasy books. I find them so fascinating and the authors have so much imagination; the series/books are all unique.
My favourite books that are not series are 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher and The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.
Do you guys read? What are your favourite books? Let me know by commenting on this post. :)

I just finished the book The Fault In Our Stars yesterday night. To be honest it was a great read! John Green’s a brilliant writer. Although cancer’s a huge part of the story, it wasn’t the focus of the story. The story focused on a wonderful and touching love story between two teenagers. There were lots of great passages in this book. I’ll share some of my favourite ones.
“There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. There’s .1 and .12 and .112 and an infinite collection of others. Of course, there is a bigger infinite set of numbers between 0 and 2, or between 0 and a million. Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. A writer we used to like taught us that. There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set. I want more numbers than I’m likely to get, and God, I want more numbers for Augustus Waters than he got. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”
“Maybe ‘okay’ will be our ‘always”
“It’s a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do its killing.”
How about you? Do you have any passages that you liked from The Fault In Our Stars? If so, let me know by commenting on this post.
